Some Famous Dishes Of Matam Ih Menu – Ready To Know!
Tokwa’t Baboy:
Tokwa’t baboy is a famous homemade dish and a top seller at Matam-Ih. They wanted to make it stand out from the usual versions found in eateries. At Matam-Ih, their Tokwa’t baboy comes with red and green chili, onion slices, pork ears, pork belly, deep-fried tofu.
The pork was okay, but some pieces were tender while others were tough to chew. It costs ₱200, which might seem a bit pricey, but it’s enough to serve around 2-3 people.
Chicharon Bulaklak:
Chicharon Bulaklak is famous for being super crunchy and crispy. But, to be honest, it tasted pretty ordinary. There was nothing really special about it. And it’s quite pricey too, at ₱200.
We were hoping that Matam-Ih’s version would be worth the price, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite match up.
BBQ Manuk:
Since many dishes were pricey, we had to be careful with what we ordered. We couldn’t just pick our favorites; we had to consider our budget.
We opted for the BBQ Manuk because it seemed more affordable. It looked tasty, like regular chicken barbecue. That made the ₱120 dish taste even better.
Begukan Babi:
Mr. Lucero mentioned that Begukan Babi, pork sautéed in shrimp paste, is a top seller at Matam-Ih. It’s definitely tasty and deserves its popularity.
However, even though we’re not super health-conscious, we weren’t fans of the high amount of fatty pork in the dish. That’s just our personal preference, though. The Begukan Babi costs ₱220, but it’s still worth giving a try.
Lechon Kawali:
Lechon Kawali is a famous Filipino dish where pork belly is boiled until tender, then fried until crispy. It’s heavenly with its crunchy skin and juicy meat.
However, Matam-Ih’s version tasted like others we’ve tried before. We were also let down by the sauce—it was just Mang Tomas, a common sauce. Plus, it’s pricey at ₱200.
